I specialise in hip and knee surgery, namely managing arthritic conditions, and perform Mako robotic-assisted total hip and knee replacements. The Mako robot offers increased precision, reduced pain levels and a faster recovery time to patients.
I also perform arthroscopy for meniscal and cartilage conditions, and injections including steroid, platelet rich plasma and viscosupplementation.
My sub-specialty interests include musculoskeletal tumour surgery, namely soft tissue lumps/swellings and metastatic bone disease. I have also set up a rapid access lumps clinic, providing a one stop facility of investigation of a lump anywhere on the body. In view of my interest in sarcoma, I receive referrals from all around Greater Manchester, the UK and internationally for patients with suspected cancer, and I'm the only Orthopaedic Surgeon who offers treatment for it privately in Manchester.
I completed my medical degree at the Royal Free and University College London Medical School in 2003, and undertook my early surgical training in the North West. My specialist postgraduate training in trauma and orthopaedics was in the East Midlands (South) T&O rotation. I subsequently completed fellowships in lower limb arthroplasty and sarcoma in Leicester, Nottingham and Wrightington Hospital.
During the consultation, I always ensure the patient is at the centre of the decision making process, answering any questions they may have. I regularly collect outcome data and my practice is evidence based, including regular positive reviews from patients.
