I am a Consultant Knee Surgeon specialising in advanced, patient-focused care for a wide range of knee conditions. I completed my undergraduate medical studies at the University of Liverpool, including an intercalated degree in anatomy and human biology. I undertook my postgraduate training in the North West Deanery, followed by a Fellowship at the Avon Orthopaedic Centre in Bristol. I was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in knee surgery in 2022.
I pride myself in tailoring my treatment to suit a specific patient's needs. In order to fulfil this I offer a comprehensive range of knee surgeries. My field of experience covers the breadth of knee surgery, from the management of sports injuries of the knee, including cartilage, meniscal and ligament injuries, to managing arthritis of the knee with partial or full knee replacements. My fellowship in Bristol also provided me with the opportunity to develop a special interest in treating disorders of the knee cap, from instability through to replacement.
In my NHS practice, I manage a variety of complex knee injuries, including multi-ligament knee injuries, complex fractures around the knee and around knee replacements, alongside general trauma.
I am currently the Cancer Lead for the Orthopaedic Department at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust.
I am proud to be invited to teach and examine trainees approaching their final orthopaedic examinations, and also regularly examine medical students and interview for medical admissions.
I have a keen interest in research, having been heavily involved as a trainee, and i'm currently the Principal Investigator for a NIHR funded trial at Stepping Hill Hospital.
I always make the patient the centre of my care, and tailor my treatment to their specific needs. I consistently receive excellent feedback from both patients and colleagues with regards to working with the multidisciplinary team around me, to optimise patient outcomes.
