OrthTeam is a group of highly-skilled consultants who specialise in musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions with vast combined experience in the healthcare sector.
Since formation in 2007, the OrthTeam has grown and developed to establish itself as one of the leading providers of MSK treatment and surgery in the North, looking after a wide range of patients; including athletes with sporting injuries, arthritis sufferers to complex spinal conditions.
Each of our consultants has trained to develop the highest level of specialisation in their chosen area and the majority are recognised at both an international and national level for their expertise. What are the state-of-the-art diagnostics available?
At the OrthTeam Centre, patients have access to a cutting-edge 3 Tesla (3T) MRI scanner which, being equipped with the most up-to-date technology, offers a shorter examination time and clearer, more detailed images. This allows us to reduce the amount of time the patient is in the scanner without compromising image quality. The high resolution of 3T imaging is really important to a consultant and can make a difference in establishing the diagnosis, as well as determining the course of management for each patient. The clarity of the images obtained can identify subtle abnormalities not previously seen on standard scanners used at most healthcare facilities. Patients also benefit from a dedicated digital X-ray facility, ultrasound and fluoroscopy room for image-guided injections, all within the OrthTeam Centre.
